We are trying to pursue a project: the dissemination of this documentary (preview) on places where we live.
not always easy to integrate into a new place. Yet, slowly ...
We were not born in Piceno, we live just five years. Can be many, but they are few.
I still look with the eyes of tourists, with the eye of those who, having lived more than 40 years in Milan, like me, try again a joy to see a large and pleasant landscape, which is not concrete or plain A bit o 'beyond.
I also like to live near the sea, the dream continues my youth, now it gives me a stone's throw away.
Yet I still do not feel a Piceno. I bring my culture Lombarda, although a native of Sicily.
But here there is a kind of silent resignation, an atavistic fatalism that seems to envelop everything.
The film shines at times when older people tell their experiences, as the lady who works the lace Offida.
"There is now no more nor those who do, or who sells or who buys it" as a signal the extinction of an art that is an ancient heritage.
Or the old fisherman, Captain Palestini, who thinks that now, with current techniques, the fishermen do not get wet even more hands.
I like the music of the film, alive and full of energy, with Edmond Schmidt who transmits his office full of human sympathy and kindness.
I like the guys from the popular group "A Randerchitte" expressing joy and always fun simply and naturally, interpreting the local spirit in its most Boccaccesca ...
Like Gigi Girolami with its cribs made of passion, where we see the love of painstaking work that can faithfully reproduce the historical events. One especially valuable tool to allow children to experience history as something that belongs to him rather than a cold string of dates to be learned from books.
I like the hands of artists, strong hands, working with local materials: wood and travertine that gives the sea to the beaches, the stones found along the river or herbs with their precious aroma.
I like the walls, strange, twisted brick never the same between them, such as the house where we live, telling old stories when the houses were pulled on a stone at a time, even after the efforts of a full day.
I like the festivals that enliven the cool summer evenings
I like boys, especially when they express joy as Cristina
Or when speaking with their music, as Andrew Grelli
I also like having a city as near Ascoli Piceno, which I find enjoyable. You can walk around the city and use its services fairly quiet. You can also admire its beautiful towers, squares and corners and elegant town with narrow streets of its old quarters.
So I like the Piceno and that is why I think that distributing this film is not just a business transaction, but also a way of contributing to the territory that now feel like our own, to show a way of life, to show the beauty and enrich the place valuing the assets that it holds suggesting a visit to as many people as possible.
Who wants to help in the distribution is welcome ...
